Leadership in Tough Times
Gümrah initiated his career in 1992 at Ekom Eczacıbaşı Foreign Trade as Regional Manager. In 1994, he was appointed Commercial Manager of VitrA UK, and in 1997, General Manager of the Group’s newly established marketing and sales company in Russia, EBM Jsc., where he was given the responsibility of developing its business. In 1999, Gümrah joined Intema Building Materials Marketing and Sales, where he served respectively as Projects and Operation Manager, Sales Operation Manager, Assistant General Manager, and General Manager, a position he held between 2006 and 2011.
In January 2011, Atalay Gümrah was appointed Vice President of the Eczacıbaşı Building Products Division (Bathrooms) and General Manager of Eczacıbaşı Building Products, and in October 2013, he was given the additional role of Executive Vice President of the Eczacıbaşı Building Products Division. Atalay Gümrah will assume the post of Eczacıbaşı Group CEO on 1 February 2017.
Born in Giresun in 1967, Atalay Gümrah graduated from Galatasaray Lycée in 1986 and Boğaziçi University’s Industrial Engineering Department in 1991. He received a master’s degree in industrial engineering from the same university in 1994.
In addition to his executive posts, Atalay Gümrah is a member of the board of several Eczacıbaşı Building Division companies and Chairman of the Clay, Ceramic, Cement and Glass Industry Employers’ Association of Turkey.
Married with 2 children, Atalay Gümrah speaks English, French and Italian.

Bengi Korkmaz served in McKinsey North America, Europe and Korea Offices for 21 years. Now, she is a Partner at McKinsey & Company’s Istanbul office. She is one of the global leaders of McKinsey Organization and Family-Owned Business Practice. She has established McKinsey Academy Turkey with the mission to reinforce managers’ leadership potentials and enable development of critical skills and talents for all employees.
Korkmaz completed her undergraduate education at Bilkent University Faculty of Business Administration and then received her MBA degree from Stanford University Graduate School of Business. She also completed Senior Executive Education in Global Leadership from Harvard Kennedy School. One of WEF Young Global Leaders, Korkmaz serves as a member of the Board for AÇEV (Mother and Child Education Foundation). Bengi Korkmaz has supported many women and youth organizations in Turkey.

Murat Yesildere began his career in the financial sector. He held various executive roles at Philip Morris, GSD Holding and GSD Investment Bank. A turning point in his career was when he decided to join the globally renowned Management Consultancy Egon Zehnder in 2000.
Murat is one the youngest managing partners at the firm, which is also the biggest privately held consultancy. Erhan Erkut received a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Bogazici University in 1980 and a PhD from the University of Florida in 1986. Dr. Erkut taught at the University of Alberta School of Business during 1985-2005. During this period, he received ten teaching awards, including the INFORMS Teaching of Management Science Practice Award and the 3M Teaching Fellowship, and five practice and service awards from the Canadian Operational Research Society.
Dr. Erkut established a Centre for Excellence in Operations to facilitate know-how transfer, and served as the founding editor of the journal INFORMS Transactions in Education.
After returning to Turkey in 2005, he served as Dean of the Business School at Bilkent University (2005-07), the Founding Rector of Ozyegin University (2008-13), and as Vice-Rector of MEF University (2014-current). Embracing different roles in B2B and B2C marketing in Google since 2012, Işıl Heves is continuing her role as Google Turkey Marketing Leader (CMO).
Heves started her business life in Citibank's Individual Technology Department and worked as a marketing manager in many brands in the Home and Personal Care categories at Unilever before joining Google.
She completed her bachelor degree in Bilkent University with full scholarship and her master's degree and thesis in the Department of Conflict Analysis and Resolution at Sabancı University. Psychiatrist, academic and keynote speaker Professor Kemal Sayar was born in Ordu, a small town in the Blacksea region. He graduated from Hacettepe Faculty of Medicine (taught in English) in 1989 and began his Psychiatry residency at Marmara University in Istanbul between 1989-1995.
He became an associate professor in 2000, received full professorship in 2008. He was a guest lecturer in Transcultural Psychiatry department at McGill University in Canada, in 2002.

Graduated from Ankara University in 1986, completed her master's degree in 1989 and her doctorate in 1996 in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. She worked as a visiting lecturer in the Purdue University Women's Studies Program in the USA, where she went in 1997 with the TÜBA Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in Social Sciences.
She became Associate Professor in 1998 and Professor in 2005, and in 2008 she was appointed to Ankara University Faculty of Health Sciences Social Service Department as the founding Head of Department. During her tenure, she enabled the opening of many different graduate programs in the field of social services at Ankara University. Hablemitoğlu, who was elected as the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences between 2008-2015, left Ankara University at the end of this duty and established the independent institution Hablemitoğlu Ankara Institute, where she started to work as a family counselor. For a long time, within the scope of the Institute's work, primarily family counseling, she has been organizing modular training programs and workshops focused on individual and institutional development for various organizations, and giving seminars on various topics related to family relations, coping with grief and social services. She has worked as an executive and researcher in different projects related to young people and old people supported by TÜBİTAK, BAP, EU and Ankara Development Agency, consulted and contributed to many projects. She is still a member of the International Federation of Social Workers (IASSW). Hablemitoğlu has articles and researches and books published in national and international scientific journals in the fields of family problems, gender, gerontology, etc. She is still the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Lefke European University and the Head of the Social Service Department, and she continues her studies in the Hablemitoğlu Institute in Northern Cyprus and Ankara.

Born in 1964 in Istanbul, Zeynep Bodur Okyay graduated from the Italian High School in 1985 and earned a degree in management engineering from Istanbul Technical University in 1989. She attended Harvard University between 1990 and 1992 and earned a graduate degree in management.
From 1992 to 1993, Zeynep Bodur Okyay worked in various roles, including production, planning, and management, as a management trainee at the Çanakkale Seramik factory in Çan, Çanakkale. In 1995, she was appointed as an Executive Board Member and President of Kale Group's marketing companies. Since July 2007, she has been serving as Kale Group's President and CEO.
Zeynep Bodur Okyay is actively engaged in several NGOs, associations, foundations and chamber boards. Zeynep Bodur Okyay is also President of the Dr. (h.c.) İbrahim Bodur Kaleseramik Education, Health and Social Welfare Foundation.
Zeynep Bodur Okyay assumed the Presidency of the C20 (Civil 20) Steering Committee during Turkey's G20. She also co-founded the Harvard Alumni Group and supported the establishment of a Turkish language chair at Harvard University.
In 2006, Zeynep Bodur Okyay was awarded the title Cavaliere del Lavoro for her contributions and services to Turkish-Italian relations. In 2014, she was awarded the Official Order of Merit (Ufficiale Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana) of the Republic of Italy. In 2010, Okyay received the 'Turkey in Europe Franco Nobili Award' for her contributions to relations between Turkey and the European Union and the Outstanding Service Award given by the Turkish Grand National Assembly to persons who deliver outstanding services to Turkey on a national and international level, contribute to promoting Turkey, and contribute to social welfare, education, happiness and social development.

Human Oriented Transformation
Mr. Aclan Acar started his career in 1974. After working for state-owned Halkbank for three years, he joined the Central Bank of Turkey in 1978 where he served in different departments until 1990. During this period, Mr. Acar undertook several managerial responsibilities including establishing the trading room, managing open market operations, reorganizing and managing foreign exchange transactions division of money markets and leading the treasury department of the Central Bank.
Between September 1990 – December 2018, Mr. Acar joined Dogus Group, one of the leading conglomerates of Turkey, between September 1990 – December 2018. First, he started at Garanti Bank as the Executive Vice President in charge of the Treasury and Financial Institutions, one of the leading private banks in the country, as the Executive Vice President in charge of Treasury and Financial Institutions. Under this position, he also partook in administrative roles for the international branches and representative offices of Garanti Bank. Between 1994-1996, he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Bank Ekspres, then owned by the Group. Following acquisition of Ottoman Bank, the oldest and one of the most respected banks of the country, by the Dogus Group in June 1996, Mr. Acar was appointed as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank. Between April 2000 – December 2018 he served as a Member of Board and the Executive Committee of Dogus Group. Between the years 2001-2005, he served as the Chairman of both Tansas and Garanti Insurance and Garanti Pension Company. Between January 2006 – March 2018 he served as the Chairman of Dogus Otomotiv. Between March 2018 – December 2018 he served as the Chairman and CEO of Dogus Media Group. He has been a Board Member of Türk Telekom since March 2019. He has also established his own advisory company ın 2019.
After receiving his B.A from the Academy of Economics and Commercial Sciences in Ankara, he continued his education at the same university receiving a M.S degree in Banking and Insurance. He then pursued an M.A degree in Economics at Vanderbilt University, USA between the years of 1985-1986.

Prof. Dr. Türker Kılıç is a Professor of Neurosurgery. He conducted his post-doctoral work on brain tumors and treatments at Harvard University and holds a PhD degree in Anatomy. In 2015, Prof. Kilic was selected to the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, one of the three most important academies in the world with over 30 Nobel Prize winners and a total of 15 Turkish members since its inception a quarter of a century ago.
Having received medical training at Hacettepe, Marmara and Harvard Universities, Dr. Kılıç has been carrying out his academic work as the founding dean of the Bahçeşehir University School of Medicine since 2012. His most prized awards are the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies Scientific Research Award (1999) and the American Association of Neurosurgery Award for Tumor Research in 2001. Dr. Kilic was nominated as a fellow to the World Academy of Art and Science in May, 2019.
Professor Kılıç, who has an H-index score of 33 and over 200 academic publications that have received 3,701 citations, is the inventor of various brain surgery methods and has made significant contributions to Gleevec, a smart drug for brain tumors. He is among the pioneers of Gamma-Knife Surgery, Tumor Banking, and Intraoperative MRI in Turkey.
In addition to his ongoing scientific research, Dr. Kılıç is involved in Medical Education and Science Education. Dr. Kılıç’s speeches on Science and Science Education have received over 10 million views online.
Curation & Moderation
Kuran has worked with many local and global employer brands in various industries such as finance, energy, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, education, automotive, retail, etc. She is the Middle East Director of world’s leading employer branding research and consulting company, Universum. She is also the creator and the curator of the region’s biggest employer branding conference, People Make the Brand since 2013. Kuran is the Representative of Youth Council at PERYON – People Management Association of Turkey and also an Advisory Board member at Sabancı School of Management.
Besides her career as a consultant, she is also a keynote speaker and a columnist and her articles are published at certain national and global publications and portals. He has been leading the teams publishing Turkish editions of Businessweek since November 2005 and Harvard Business Review since October 2012. At the moment, he is the chief editor of both Harvard Business Review Türkiye and Bloomberg Businessweek Türkiye.
Turkish-English simultaneous translation will be provided throughout the sessions.
